Fall Photos Event! Anyone interested??

I am thinking of doing another Fall/Halloween photo event again this year. The prior year consisted of a cute hay and the pumpkins scene where the kids were invited to come and play and get their photos taken. We also had a backdrop set up for them to show off their Halloween Costumes. What I need to know is if anyone is interested? Please let me know! It was such a good time and I would love to do this again if you are interested.

Found Still-life Images

Upong visiting different kid spaces I found that some times still-lives exist right in plain sight, when your not even really looking. They aren't over though, over worked. They aren't complicated. But there there. And thought the little hands have already moved on there is something beautiful in the goemetry of what is left behind.



Some things are already perfect. You just have to see them.

Just wanted to give ya'll a heads up- I have a photograph in this months Sun Mazagine- the September issue! It's paired with a great story called "The World in Red" by Teresa Williams. (In case you can't tell I'm a little excited!!) Here is a preveiw!

Packard (a detail)

A while back we had the pleasure of seeing a number of limited edition cars on exhibit at the High in Atlanta. (The trip was a special request for the birthday of a certain someone special!) We loaded up the car and drove off with no idea what we'd end up seeing though we speculated the whole way there.

We arrived early, found parking, and stood in line for tickets. Again, all the way up in the elevator we giggled and guessed at the cars we would see. The doors opened and there she sat.. The Packard. Time seemed to stop as we stood there staring. And staring. And staring. And then the man working the elevator doors requested that we move please, because other people wanted to get out too!

Yes, it's Atlas... our tiger striped visitor from another planet, who came to Earth with powers and abilities far beyond those of mortal dogs! Atlas... who can change the course of mighty rivers with one swoosh of his tail, chew through steel with his enormous canine teeth, and who, disguised as a normal house-pet, mild-mannered and furry, fights a never-ending battle for walks, snacks, and the best scratch ever! And now, another exciting episode, in The Adventures of Atlas Stelling!

And then he was 3...

It's that time again! I asked you where does the time go? I know neither of us slept the first year so it almost doesn't count... right? And we laughed and played through the second year so I guess I just didn't noticed it happening. Henry's growing up!

Every day he is bigger and smarter and more independent! (And yes he reminds me of this every chance he gets!) But not matter what happens, no matter how big or how brave you are, no matter how old you become... you will still be my shining star! And I will love you to the moon and back!

Tonight I am sending out a link for you to check out. This comes from Carrie Brown, one of my old college roommates. We attended SCAD together while studying for our MFA's. While in school Carrie had the opportunity to visit Ghana and fell in love with the country and its people. We spent many a night listening to her stories, looking through her photographs, watching her edit for her thesis. It was clear that while her body was in the States with us that her spirit was always in Ghana.

Shortly after graduation Carrie began to make arrangements to go back. And she returned with a mission!! Carrie began a photography program for the children of Ghana. Armstrong University's 75th Anniversary Car Show

It's spring again, and I again find myself photographing cars. This year I started at Armstrong Atlantic's 75th Anniversary Car Show. I hope you enjoy these nostalgic images. I know that I most certainly did! The cross detail on the seat, the faded license plate, the whimsy of the girl's dress blowing in the wind... Each detail tells a story that I cannot quite retell all of just yet!
